Handmade Seed Bead Earrings
These earrings start with hundreds of tiny glass seed beads and a whole lot of patience. Each one is hand-woven, bead by bead, into a beaded top with fringe that hangs and sways with you. It's slow, meditative work — but it's how you get that soft, swingy movement no other earring style quite matches.
I love working in seed beads because of the color. A single earring can hold a dozen shades of one hue, or clash bright colors together on purpose, and the tiny scale of the beads means the color reads almost like a gradient. Bright, bold, a little playful — these are earrings made to catch the eye and move with you all day.
Beadwork like this has deep roots — glass and clay seed beads have been woven into jewelry and adornment by artisans across many cultures for centuries, and fringe styles in particular carry a long, rich tradition in beadwork made by Indigenous artisans in the Americas. I come to this craft with a lot of respect for that history, and I try to bring the same care and detail to every pair I weave.
